Ivan Nova has been the luckiest pitcher in baseball as he keeps mounting wins despite mediocre numbers. That is going to catch up with him, and he will now once again be dependent on a Yankees lineup that for the moment hasn't been as productive as it could be. The Bombers are just 3-6 over their last nine games and have scored 2 or less in five of the six losses, and 3 or less in all six. They aren't hitting with men on base and it is costing them. Their bullpen is also no longer automatic with Robertson and Rivera both on the shelf and Nova doesn't often pitch deep into games. The A's do best at home to lower totals and are 7-2 when the total is set from 7 to 8.5 in their last nine here. The Yankees are just the opposite when playing on the road to a total of 7 to 8.5, as they are just 2-9 in their last 11. Play on Oakland.
