It looks like the changing of the guard in Oakland. The vaunted Yankees are sizable underdogs in a longtime role reversal, as the A's are now the king of the AL. The Yankees have been big winners behind Tanaka, but the rest of the staff has left this team six games below the .500 mark. David Phelps has not been the answer with just one win on the season and an ERA approaching 5. Sonny Gray is 6-2 with a strong 2.83 ERA on the season, and owns a career mark vs. the Yankees of 3-1. The Yanks have come up empty behind Phelps as a dog where they are 0-6 in his last six starts. Gray is on five days rest, and the A's are 10-2 in his last 12 with an extra day of rest. This has been a house of horrors for New York, who has lost seven straight times here. Oakland makes it eight in a row tonight, so play on the A's.
