New York at Minnesota

At one time the New York Yankees held a 10-game lead in the AL East, but have seen that trimmed to just one. The Bombers have been a struggling team for quite some time, posting a 31-30 record over their last 61 games after opening the season 57-34. The Twins just took two of three in Detroit, winning the last two, and have some momentum going into this series. The Yankees have had trouble when opening a series of late where they are 2-6 in their last eight lid lifters, and are also 0-4 in Pettitte's last four starts after an opponent scored 5 or more against them in their previous game. The Yankees’ bullpen was over-worked vs. Oakland with close games and one that went 14 innings. Pettitte will be on a pitch count as he is in just his second start since suffering a fractured ankle. Hendriks is pitching better recently and the Twins have won his last two starts. Play on Minnesota.
