Allure and the season performance by Jerod Weaver has the AL's best team, the New York Yankees in dog status on the road in LA tonight. Weaver has had a remarkable season, but his pace was unsustainable, and it is showing up late. Weaver allowed just 34 runs in his first 24 starts, but has since allowed 22 in his last five. He is also becoming bat shy, as he loses his confidence and swagger on the mound. Weaver walked a total of 20 batters in 14 starts before the trouble set in, and has walked seven in his last two. The Yanks are patient and will make him come into the zone, and certainly could do damage here. The Yankees’ pen is as good as ever, helping them win expected low-scoring games, showing the Bombers at 37-14 in their last 51 with a total of 7-8.5. The tough AL East is not the best spot for Weaver where the Angels are just 3-7 in his last 10 facing them. Play on the Yankees.
