New York at Kansas City

There are times during the season that a team can out-hit anyone they put on the mound. The Yankees are in one of those stretches right now. The Yankees are scoring runs in bunches, having averaged 10+ now for five games. And, seven of the nine hitters in the lineup have 4+ game hitting streaks. There are no soft spots and even Johnny Damon has caught fire. They banged out 13 more hits last night and have hung a pair of 9's on the Royals in the first two games. Gil Meche holds this line down as does an erratic Mike Musina. Meche hasn't exactly been great since mid-May, as he has pitched to a 5.13 ERA since. This team has sandwiched a 14-3 run, and their current 16-5 run, around a losing streak of 2-9. The Yankees look like a team on a mission, and are about as hot as it gets right now.
