New York didn't let Anthony Rizzo's absence matter on Monday night as the Yankees kept resisting the Royals' comebacks and finally won 8-6 in 11 innings. Both teams matched each other from the seventh through 10th innings before the Bronx Bombers scored three times in the top of the 11th to clinch the victory. New York has won six of seven and has new life following the recent trades as they are only two games out of a wild-card spot. Kansas City is fighting to stay out of last place in the AL Central, and Daniel Lynch has a 7.43 ERA in three home starts. Nestor Cortes has started four games for New York and has allowed only nine earned runs in 37 2/3 innings this season. The Royals are 28-66 their past 94 games versus the AL East. Take the Yankees.
