New York at Houston

New York had started to turn things around with a three-game winning streak before running into rookie Logan Gilbert on Thursday, losing 4-0 to the Mariners. The Yankees will start Nestor Cortes tonight, and he made his first start of the year on Sunday, allowing one run in 3 1/3 innings. Cortes has been excellent in a relief role with a 1.29 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 21 innings, and Houston hitters are 4-for-15 against him. Jake Odorizzi has not fared well at home this season with an 0-2 record and 5.06 ERA in 16 innings. The Yankees have won two of three meetings this year, and they are 9-2 versus a team that scored two or fewer runs its previous game.
