The Yankees have dropped two in a row and have not been playing well on the road of late as well as on the road in the playoffs. New York has an offense that is built for its home park in the Bronx, a small place, but Comerica in Detroit is huge. It's tougher to score runs and defense is essential. Defense has not been a strong suit of the Yankees this season, an aging team. The Yankees are also 6-7 in the last 13 games in which A.J. Burnett (11-11, 5.15 ERA) appeared (12 starts) and he was especially bad on the road, at 4-5 with a 6.28 ERA this season away from home. Detroit has an underrated offense, one that is an impressive No. 4 in baseball in runs scored, on base percentage and slugging. The Tigers are 19-7 in Rick Porcello's last 26 starts and he has a 2.57 ERA against the Yankees this season. And the Tigers are 36-17 in their last 53 home games vs. a team with a winning record. With the pressure on the 97-win Bronx Bombers tonight, look for the series to end. Play on the Tigers in Game 4.
