The Yankees have faced a pair of the best pitchers in the league over their last four games, and lost to Verlander here last night. They were a shutout victim to Felix Hernandez at the Stadium on Saturday. They won't be facing a top pitcher in this one, as Ricky Porcello, who was 14-9 as a rookie in 2009, has not had success since. Porcello brings a 4.65 ERA into this contest, allowing 155 hits in 122 innings so the Bombers should be poised for a big output here. The Yankees are getting a lot of positives out of Phil Hughes at 11-8, winning 8 of his last 11 starts as his ERA has dipped below the 4 mark on the season. Those last 11 starts have seen his ERA at a sterling 2.77. The Yanks are now 13-3 following a game where they allowed 5 runs or more, while the Tigers have struggled behind Porcello on five days of rest at 1-5 in his last six in this spot. Play on the Yankees.
