James Shields had a rough outing on Saturday when he allowed six runs on seven hits in three innings in a 10-2 loss to Oakland. Chicago has lost both his starts since he came off the disabled list, including 7-3 to Toronto on June 18 when Shields gave up three runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings. Luis Cessa had his best outing of the year when he struck out eight batters in five innings against the Rangers his last start.
