The Red Sox probably aren't as bad as their record indicates. They are a team with plenty of talent with an offense that is No. 7 in baseball in runs scored, No. 4 in batting average (.276), No. 6 in on-base percentage and fourth in slugging. That offense faces C.C. Sabathia, a Yankees ace who typically starts slow in April. That's been the case again this season with a 5.59 ERA. He has a losing record against Boston (7-9, 4.41 ERA) and Fenway is no easy park to pitch in, especially for southpaws. The Yankees are 1-4 in Sabathia's last five road starts. The New York offense faces hard-throwing Danie Bard, who will probably move to the bullpen at some point, but right now he's been decent as a starter (13 Ks in 11+ innings, 12 hits). He's 2-1 in his career against New York and you don't find Boston as a home dog often. The Red Sox like get-away-day games, at 21-7 in their last 28 Sunday games, and the Yankees are 1-4 in Sabathia's last five starts against the Red Sox. Play the Red Sox.
