Washington lost Bryce Harper, but the Nationals still have a lot of hitting talent and they were the best offense in the National League after the All-Star break. Maz Scherzer continues to be one of the premier pitchers in the game, following an 18-7 season and 2.53 ERA, including 10-3 and 2.51 at home. Scherzer also was 9-1 through May last year and the Mets batted only .196 against him in two games. Jacob deGrom was a hard-luck pitcher for the punchless Mets as he finished at only 10-9 with a 1.70 ERA and still won the Cy Young Award. Washington has won 56 of Scherzer's last 81 starts and 23 of his last 32 home starts. Also, the Nationals are 18-6 in Scherzer's last 24 starts in the first game of a series. This is an epic pitching matchup, but go with the Nationals.
