The New York Mets are really getting bitten by the injury bug. Two key cogs in their offense, Reyes and Delgado are on the shelf, and now Gary Sheffield is questionable today with a hamstring injury. Add in Ryan Church and Ramon Martinez, and the Mets’ lineup is looking rather thin. David Wright, the power in the middle of the order, has just 3 HRs on the season. The Mets have now scored three runs or less in five of their last seven and the lineup is getting thinner. Washington is having their own problems as they have tallied just a single run in each of their last three games. Maine has been pitching well for the Mets, and the Mets’ pen behind him is strong. I look for this one to go UNDER the total.
