New York at Washington

The New York Mets spent a lot of money last year trying to create an instant winner. It never played out, and some of those free agents are gone. The Mets are paying the price this season at 25-35, including a 4-10 run over the past two weeks. New York surprised Washington to open this series, scoring eight runs, and I think that will motivate the Nationals today. Washington is just five games under .500 and completing this season as a .500 team or better would certainly show progress. I like Washington in this one.
