The St. Louis Cardinals derailed the Roy Hallady express last night, besting the Phillies’ ace 4-3. That was a big emotional win, and the Cardinals are pretty much out of things for playoffs hopes this season. The Mets have played either very good or very bad this season. The latest version shows the Mets 2-10, followed by a 10-3, followed by a 1-8 and are now heading back up again at 2-1. The Cards are getting quality starts from Edwin Jackson in his last four where they are 3-1, but a closer look reveals all four games decided by a single run, running the Cards’ mark to just 2-7 in his last nine starts if giving +1.5 on the runline. The Mets’ topsy-turvy season is on an uptick right now, so I’ll ride the Mets on the runline.
