New York at St. Louis

The ball bounced the right way for St. Louis yesterday. They got a bloop double followed by a ball off a pitcher that delivered the go-ahead run for them yesterday. The Mets will get a shot at a rookie pitcher making his first start for the Cardinals in John Gast. The Cards have been developing some good young pitching, but Gast doesn't have the electric stuff as the others. Dillon Gee has run hot and cold for the Mets, but owns a 1-0 record with a 2.57 ERA vs. the Cards in a pair of career starts against them. The Mets have fared well in Gee's last seven starts to a total of 7-8.5 where they are 5-2, and should have the pitching edge in this one. Go with the Mets.
