The Mets are a tease team. Just when you think they have collapsed, they put together some good games. Just when you think they have found it, they collapse again. The road has been unkind to the Mets as they sit well below .500. John Maine has not been the consistent pitcher he was last season for the Mets. They have now dropped each of his last three starts, where he sports a 6.19 ERA. The Giants Matt Cain has kept them in just about every game he has pitched. That is represented by the fact he has seven no-decisions in 12 starts. Cain has lowered his walk totals from 23 in his first six starts to just 12 in his last six and has showed signs of improvement. This is a good place for the Mets to fall with a struggling pitcher against a young maturing arm finding the strike zone.
