New York at Philadelphia

This is the second game of the doubleheader and New York will start David Peterson although the Mets might have been better off starting him in the first game because he has a much better record in day games than at night. Peterson is 3-0 with a 1.41 ERA under the sun and 3-2 and 4.60 at night. The left-hander did not have a particularly good July with a 4.64 ERA allowing 11 earned runs in 21 1/3 innings and he has pitched just once in August. The Phillies will go with Bailey Falter and it will be his eighth start while bouncing back and forth from the majors to the minor leagues, where he has had some dominating performances this season. The Phillies had won seven of nine home games coming into today's action and five of six against left-handed starters. Take the Phillies.
