The Mets are on a 16-36 run, including 7-19 in interleague games, plus 7-22 following a victory. The Mets are also 7-15 when Matz faces a team with a winning record. They face a powerhouse N.Y. Yankees team that is 33-14 at home, ranked third in runs scored, fifth in on-base percentage, and No. 1 in slugging. Even in the loss yesterday the Bronx Bombers had 14 hits and drew four walks. Starter Sonny Gray was solid through six innings in defeating the Mets at home last season and has a 3.43 ERA in his interleague career. The Bombers are on a 52-17 run at home and the Mets are 0-6-2 in the last eight interleague series with the Yankees. Play the N.Y. Yankees.
