The Miami Marlins loaded up the roster with impact free agents a year ago, as they opened their new stadium. The results fell miles short of anticipation, and now most of those players are gone. The depleted roster found a tough time adjusting, and through 18 games the Marlins' offense averaged just 2 runs per game. They have definitely improved as they have doubled their production over the last nine games where they have averaged 4 runs per game. The Mets' offense is now the one that has gone into the deep freeze, scoring less than 2 runs per game in losing their last six. The Marlins are the better team right now and have won three straight, so back Miami as a live home dog.
