New York at Arizona

New York was down to its last strike when Francisco Alvarez homered to tie it last night. Mark Canha then tripled in the go-ahead run as the Mets won 2-1. Arizona will look to Ryne Nelson to bounce back from its Wednesday's loss and it has won his past two starts while he has allowed only two runs on six hits in 14 1/3 innings. The Mets will be seeing him for the first time in his career. Carlos Carrasco has a 5.94 ERA and 1.57 WHIP and the Mets have lost his past five starts although his bullpen has the culprit in some of those. Carrasco had a 6.23 ERA in June and a .303 opponent batting average. Arizona is 14-3 its past 17 games after losing the first two games of a series and New York still has lost 16 of 21 road games versus teams with winning records and 22 of 32 road games overall.
