Minnesota at Washington

First game of the doubleheader today, Scott Diamond against Ryan Zimmerman. Washington is favored again but can't hit, 29th in baseball in runs scored and on-base percentage, 26th in slugging. They were a big favorite yesterday but lost 4-3 to this Minnesota squad in 11 innings as the Twins had 18 base runners, the Nationals just 10 (and no walks). Washington used eight pitchers, too. The Nationals are 1-4 in their last five interleague games, 3-11 in Sunday games, as well as 1-6 in Ryan Zimmermann's last seven Sunday starts.  Washington has lost two straight and six of eight. They've scored three runs or less in seven straight games. Meanwhile Minnesota is on a roll, winning yesterday, and winning eight of 11 overall. That makes the Twins 5-0 in their last five interleague games.  Minnesota has a better offense and a good young arm in Scott Diamond (11 walks, 56 innings), who has a 3.86 ERA his last three starts, while walking two with 10 Ks in 16+ innings. The Twins are 5-0 in the last five meetings with the Nationals, including 4-0 in the last four meetings in Washington. Play the Twins on the run-line.
