The Washington Nationals are playing with expectations after a breakout season a year ago, but they are having trouble delivering on those expectations. The Nats have slipped below the .500 mark on the season. Gio Gonzalez is not having anywhere near the success he had a year ago, and enters with a 3-3 record on the season. The Twins were nearly 100 game losers the last two seasons, but are staying in touch with the .500 mark this season, and are 8-4 over their last 12. Kevin Correia is 5-4 on the season, and has a good history vs. Washington with a 3.33 ERA in six career starts against them. The Nationals are having trouble at the plate vs. pitchers with a WHIP of greater than 1.30, leading them to a woeful 1-7 mark in their last eight against them. Make the play on the dog, and go with Minnesota.
