Matt Cain has been a Jekyll and Hyde pitcher this season with a 8.40 ERA on the road compared to 1.82 at home. In six starts at AT&T Park, Cain has shown good control walking only nine batters in 34 2/3 innings. Nik Turley will make his Major League debut for the Twins after toiling for 10 years in the Minors. Turley had a 3.49 ERA in 28 1/3 innings with Rochester this season. Minnesota has lost 35 of its last 52 interleague road games against right-handed starters, and the Giants have won seven of their last nine interleague home contests versus left-handed starters.
