Minnesota at Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Pirates opened some eyes as they started the season at 5-0, and went on to win nine of their first 11 games. Then it looked like the real Pirates were playing as Pittsburgh has fallen since, until the last three weeks or so, Pittsburgh is just 30-33 overall, but they have been 11-8 in their last 19 games, and are looking more like the team we saw way back at the beginning of the season. Minnesota went to New York to play a three game set against the Yankees. Their intended message was to make a statement. The Twins were humbly swept three games to none. That had to derail this team mentally as they lost the series opener to the Pirates 3-0. Think the mental and emotional feelings leftover from that bloodbath in New York have carried over.
