Looking back a few years ago when Francisco Liriano came over from the Giants, it looked like the Twins had the heir-apparent to Johan Santana. Liriano was 12-2 and then the arm gave out. He has been fighting to regain form ever since, but has not managed to do so. This year Lirano is not flirting with an ERA of two, but closer to six. He enters this one with just a 2-8 record. His numbers appear a touch better of late, but the lineups he faced were those of Seattle,Oakland and Pittsburgh. It will be a much sterner test against the Brewers. Meanwhile, the Brewers Jeff Suppan is in his best stretch of the season with a 2.50 ERA over his last three. Suppan started poorly in his first two starts, but has turned it around with the Brewers going 9-3 in his last 12, where he has allowed three runs or less in 11 of them. Decided edge here for the Brewers, and I'll take them on the runline.
