The Minnesota Twins approached 100 losses over each of the last two seasons, but it certainly looks like this team is not only on the improve, but very hot right now. They come into this game a confident 6-1 over their last seven games. The Royals looked to be an improved team on paper, and their quick start seemed to prove that out. But, this team has been on a long slide, has lost its confidence, and are mired in a 6-21 slump. They are also four games under .500 at home for the season, and lately over their last 11 here, they are just 1-10. Mendoza will be called upon to stop the bleeding, but the Royals are just 2-8 in his last 10 starts. The Twins are now 5-1 behind Deduno vs. a losing team, and have the edge in this one.
