The Minnesota Twins have effectively fallen out of the race in the AL, while the Kansas City Royals are still in hot pursuit of the second Wild Card spot. However, despite an overall record of two games over the .500 mark, Kansas City has not made good use of their home park as they stand below the .500 mark in KC through 51 games. The Twins have gotten good work from their #1 overall draft pick in 2009 in Kyle Gibson. Gibson is 8-8, pitching at a .500 record for a team that is 10 games under .500 and gives them a chance every time he takes his turn on the mound. James Shields has pitched very well, but ha lost both his turns vs. the Twins this season, and over his career the Twinkies have roughed him up a bit as his ERA against them stands at 4.21. This line is inflated, so the Twins are the valued side here. Play on Minnesota.
