The season winds down and the contending teams see the odds go up. This one certainly has been inflated with the Tigers needing every win they can get. The problem is their last 16 have all been that way and they are just 7-9. Doug Fister was supposed to bolster a needy rotation, but like the Tigers he has disappointed as Detroit is below .500 in his 23 starts. Sam Deduno has shown promise in the Twins’ rotation as he has a winning record at 6-4 for a team well below .500. Minnesota has fared even better when he pitches to a total of 9 to 10.5 where they are 8-2. That simply means that the Twins are going to have an opportunity to score here. Fister hasn't exactly been reliable all year. In series openers he has been even worse with the Tigers at 2-6. Play on Minnesota.
