Minnesota has lost three in a row after getting swept by the Yankees. The Twins have now lost five of their last six overall and their last five road games. Minnesota has also lost four of Adalberto Mejia's last five starts and he hasn't made it past the fifth inning in any of them. Mejia gave up three runs in three innings in a loss to Toronto on Saturday and he has a 5.11 ERA since the All-Star break. Jordan Zimmermann is making his first start since September 2, after dealing with a neck issue. Detroit is 22-9 its last 31 meetings with the Twins and playing the spoiler role as Minnesota is in danger of losing a playoff spot with just a 1 1/2 game lead over the Los Angeles Angels.
