Milwaukee at Tampa Bay

The record says that the Milwaukee Brewers are the better team in this game, but that is the wrong storyline. The Brewers roared out of the gate at 20-7, but have been a sub-.500 team from that point on. The Rays apparently played themselves out of contention by early June, falling 18 games below .500, but have come roaring back. The Rays have peeled 16 of those 18 games under .500, and have moved back into contention at just 4.5 games removed from the second Wild Card spot. Pitching has been the constant, with the Rays' staff mowing down hitters to the tune of 10 games in their last 11 of allowing 3 runs or fewer. The Brewers' ills lie against right-handed pitching where they are a woeful 15-39 in their last 54 interleague road games against them. The Rays are 21-6 in their last 27 overall, and 8-1 in their last nine as a favorite. I'm going with the hot hand, so play on Tampa Bay.
