The Milwaukee Brewers are a terrible road team and wrap up a grueling 10-game trip here. Not surprisingly they are out of gas, losing five of seven. The Brewers are 5-12 against a team with a winning record. Brewers rookie Taylor Jungmann struggles on the road with a .500 record and a 4.13 ERA. He is off a loss at Miami, 6-4, allowing seven hits and six runs in 3+ innings, the worst outing of his 17-start big-league career. The Brewers are 0-4 in Jungmann's last four road starts. They run into a Pittsburgh team that is fired up, winning four of five, and making a run on the Cardinals for first place. The Pirates are on a 39-13 run at home, as well as 36-16 against a right-handed starter. The Brewers did not homer on Saturday, falling to 14-48 this season when they fail to do so, and they won't find the going easy against Pirates lefty Francisco Liriano (3.28 ERA), with the team 9-1 his last 10 starts. He was brilliant in Tuesday’s win at Cincinnati, yielding only three hits and fanning 10 in six scoreless frames. The Pirates are 14-3 when Liriano starts, and the Brewers are just 3-7 in this park. Play Pittsburgh.
