The Mets starting rotation appeared to be a team strength, but with El Duque and Pedro on the sidelines, it now is quite different. They will start Nelson Figueroa against the Brew Crew tonight. Figueroa is a long-time journeyman finding himself in this sort of spot, as a fill in starter, his entire career. He has made 33 career starts, and has only seven wins to show for it and his last stint in relief, he gave up 2 runs. He walks too many, and gives up the long ball with a high frequency, serving up 42 in what amounts to a year's worth of major league innings, 263. Manny Parra has not had a lot of big league experience, but he has shown he can get hitter's consistently out, as he has pitched to an ERA in the 3's. A long game against the Phillies last night depletes the Mets pen even further, which they'll need as well, and we will grab the Brewers here.
