Milwaukee won 86 games last year finishing second in the NL Central to St. Louis. The offense was 10th in the majors in runs scored and slugging, plus 13th in on-base percentage led by leadoff hitter (and former MVP) Christian Yelich. And this was his first healthy offseason since a kneecap injury in 2019. The starting staff is elite and they trot out ace Corbin Burnes for the opener. He's off a 2022 campaign with 243 strikeouts in 202 innings while holding batters to a .197 average. He was terrific versus the Cubs, too, with 24 Ks in 19 innings while holding them to a .169 batting average. Chicago was 74-88 last season with a losing record at Wrigley Field. The offense was 22nd in runs scored and 19th in slugging and doesn't look that much improved. The pitching staff was 20th in ERA while allowing the sixth-most walks. Starter Marcus Stroman had a losing record and a 5.18 ERA at Wrigley last year. His teams are 12-24 when he starts and the total is 7 to 8.5. Play Milwaukee.
