There are a lot of early opportunities in MLB, simply because the oddsmakers are prone to public perception, which was created from the previous year. The Brewers have a shutout to go with their 1-2 record, but allowed 20 runs in the other two - a product of poor pitching. The Cubs needed just one out from their bullpen yesterday, so they should have an edge here. Shaun Marcum has missed a lot of time with injuries, and has logged just 7.1 innings all spring due to shoulder stiffness, and he will likely have a shortened outing in this one because of it, and the Brewers’ pen is already getting overworked, and pounded. Marcum has taken the donut in his last five starts with a total of 7 to 8.5. The Cubs have thrived at home going 11-5 here in their last 16 within that same posted total range. Play on the Cubs in this one.
