There is a big difference between last year's Miami Mrlins team and the one on the field this year. The Marlins lost 100 games last season, but at the quarter pole this year they are over .500 and just two games out in the NL East. The Giants are on a roll, having won 15 of their last 20 games, but within that stretch is an ominous sign - none of the wins have been recorded by tonight's starter Matt Cain. Cain is pitching for the top NL team, but has yet to record a victory on the season. Nathan Eovaldi is gaining confidence with each start and is currently 2-1 with an ERA of 2.86, and clearly has out-pitched Matt Cain on the season. The Marlins are doing their best work vs. winning teams where they are 8-3 in their last 11, while the Giants are floundering behind Cain at 7-19 in his last 26 starts. Go with Miami.
