The defending World Series Champion San Francisco Giants are struggling in an attempt to defend their crown. The Giants enter this contest at just 37-35 on the season. Things have gotten worse instead of better as they are just 14-20 over their last 34 games. They lost here last night to a weak Miami team that should be playing with renewed vigor off the win. The Marlins have been a vastly improved team that has seen them post a 10-8 record in their last 18, and for the moment at least, are playing better baseball than the Giants. Ricky Nolasco has a long history of favorable results when facing the NL West where the Marlins are 23-11 in his last 34 starts against them, including 4-1 vs. the Giants. Miami has taken control in this series at 6-2 in the last eight meetings. Back Miami in this one.
