The Florida Marlins may have found themselves an opponent that their struggling offense can match-up with in the Oakland A's. While they have plated just 32 runs in their last 15 games, the 3 spot they hung on Oakland last night was more than enough to get the win, as the A's were shutout at home. It marked the ninth time this year that the A's have been victim of the shutout. The A's offense is weak, but when you have a weak offense that’s in a slump, as a mid-sized chalk, you’re looking for trouble. Oakland has scored all of 9 runs in their last seven games, and when you consider that four of those came in one game. The other six show just 4! That is less than one run per game, and in the role of a -150+ favorite just doesn't suit what is happening with this team offensively. Volstad and the Marlins are now 6-0 facing a team that scored 2 or less in their last game, while the young, impressionable and fragile egos of the A's are just 6-18 in their last 24 following a loss. Florida gets this one.
