New York had won four of five before losing 4-2 to the Marlins on Tuesday, but Miami has lost six of eight and destined to finish last in the NL East. David Peterson goes for the Mets tonight and in two starts this season he has allowed five runs in 11 2/3 innings, including a 6-3 victory over Washington on June 4. Miami hitters are a combined 8-for-42 for a .190 batting average against Peterson.
