Miami at Cincinnati

Miami scored six runs in the ninth inning Wednesday and still lost 11-9 to Atlanta. One has to wonder if the Marlins have anything left in the tank when they face the Reds today. Cincinnati needs to bounce back after two losses to the lowly Cubs and the Reds still are only 1 1/2 games out of a wild-card spot. Luis Castillo had one bad outing against Cleveland, but he rebounded to give up three runs on five hits in 6 2/3 innings against Philadelphia on Saturday. Castillo has pitched better at home than on the road and will be facing Miami for the first time this season. Zach Thompson has allowed eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits his last 14 innings pitched. Cincinnati has won six of the past seven meetings although the teams haven't met since 2019. The Marlins are 21-40 on the road and Cincy has won 20 of 27 as a home favorite. Take the Reds.
