For a while Miami had a remote chance for a Wild Card spot, but a four-game losing streak has killed those hopes as the bats have gone silent. The Marlins have scored a total of five runs their last four games and have scored more than two just once their last eight games. Miami is 1-7 after a loss and has lost four of its last five road contests and four of its last five meetings with Atlanta. Dan Straily has a 4.62 ERA on the road and in his last outing he gave up four runs on nine hits in five innings against Philadelphia. Sean Newcomb has pitched better than his record indicates as he's allowed more than three earned runs just once his last eight appearances.
