Miami at Atlanta

Miami came out on top on Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Braves as Jorge Alfaro hit two home runs and the Marlins snapped a four-game losing streak. They'll try to keep it going today with Caleb Smith on the mound as he gave up two runs on four hits in five innings in his first appearance this season against the Mets. The left-hander struck out eight and walked only one although Miami went on to lose 7-3. Smith faced Atlanta once last year and allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings. Sean Newcomb did not get the win in Atlanta's 8-0 win against the Cubs as he pitched only four innings in his first start. The Marlins have won five of Smith's last six road starts and the Braves have lost six of their last seven games versus left-handed starters dating to last season. Miami is a live underdog here.
