Los Angeles at San Francisco

LA lost yesterday in the bottom of the ninth, but it was only their first loss to the Giants in San Francisco this season (they are 6-1). We like Los Angeles to bounce back with a win this afternoon. The Dodgers just own San Francisco here having won 10 of the last 11. Barry Zito has been great this month but he hasn't notched any wins and stands at 9-11 on the season including 3-4 at home. The Giants' offense is just so weak that they have trouble keeping up with teams that score. The Giants are just 4-12 this season with Zito starting in close games (-125 to +125) and LA loves facing lefties like Zito. They are 23-17 averaging 4.7 per game against LHP and their bats have been solid lately. As we said, this is a matchup LA likes. They are 14-5 on the road this season against low scoring (4.3 or less) NL opponents. They've lost two of three but that's a positive thing as they are 17-7 this year on the road having lost two of their last three as they seem to find a way to summon the energy to avoid a long losing streak.
