The Padres are out of the gate slow, as they are 1-5 and the offense has yet to get going. So far they have scored no more than 4 runs in any game. They get an opportunity to play at home for the first time this year vs. the Dodgers. Los Angeles will go with Josh Beckett who was hit hard in his first start, and had an awful spring. The appearance this season is that he is not the pitcher he once was. Richard has fared very well at Petco where he is 19-16 with a stellar 2.82 ERA for his career. Beckett has failed to deliver a win when opening a series in his last four, and the Padres have been on their game in the role of a home dog, finishing 13-5 last year in their last 18. Take San Diego.
