Washington has not let Bryce Harper's absence deter them as it has won two straight, including Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Angels when Howie Kendrick hit two solo homers. Tanner Roark has pitched well since the end of June, allowing more than three runs just once in his last seven starts and the Nationals have won four of his last five starts, including 3-2 over Miami on Thursday when he gave up two runs on four hits in six innings. Roark recovered from a bad start to the season with a 3.52 ERA in July and 2.92 so far in August. Current Angels hitters who have faced Roark have a collective .200 batting average against him in 45 at-bats. Ricky Nolasco is 5-12 with a 5.24 ERA and Los Angeles has lost five of his last seven starts. Nolasco has been touched for 10 runs on 16 hits in nine innings his last two outings. Also, Nolasco is 0-3 with a 6.23 ERA in day games this season. Washington has won five of its last six home contests. Back the Nationals.
