San Diego already has clinched a spot in the playoffs and will start resting some regulars here in the final week of the season. Zach Davies will start tonight for the Padres, and Griffin Canning goes for Los Angeles. Canning is coming off two decent outings allowing one earned run in five innings his last start against Arizona in a 7-3 victory. The Angels defeated the Rangers on Monday as rookie Jared Walsh hit his first career grand slam, and the Angels scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Walsh is leading the AL in slugging percentage in September. Los Angeles actually has won its last five games versus teams with winning records, and it has won four of the last five meetings.
