Los Angeles at Philadelphia

The Los Angeles Angels have thrown in the proverbial towel and have started to release some players after yet another disappointing season. Philadelphia won its fifth straight on Tuesday with five homers and banging out 13 hits. The Angels have lost 19 of 26 overall and the Phillies have won 21 of 28 interleague games. Reid Detmers is 3-10 with a 5.03 ERA and had allowed 14 runs in 6 1/3 innings in two starts before giving up just no runs on one hit in 7 1/3 innings against Texas. However, Detmers reverted to his shaky performance this season by allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings in a 7-3 loss to Cincinnati. Christopher Sanchez has pitched well lately, but also has gotten great run support. Philadelphia has won his past four starts by a combined score of 41-13.
