Los Angeles at Oakland

The Angels remain hot having won five of six in July. They lost last night 5-7 but they still scored five runs and they've put up 43 runs in their six games this month. Two aces take the hill here but I like Lackey better than Zito right now. While Zito is again solid (3.28 ERA and 3.06 at home), Lackey has been better (3.12 ERA and 2.60 on the road). Over his past three starts Lackey has been lights-out posting a 1.66 ERA allowing just four earned runs in 21.7 innings including a beautiful 0 run four hit performance against the Dodgers on July 2nd. We don't see Lackey as an underdog much but he generally wins when we do (10-4 record). As good as LA's offense has been, Oakland's has been bad. They are scoring just 4.4 per game at home this season and over their past seven games they are averaging jsut 3.6 per game. Home favorites up to -150 with an on base percentage of .300 or worse over their last 10 games are just 10-29 (26%) during July over the past ten years. Lackey and the Angels here.
