Mike Trout makes his first appearance at Yankee Stadium here. Trout leads the AL in batting and seems destined for stardom. But, today I think he and his teammates walk away empty handed. The Yankees are still the Yankees and they still have Derek Jeter. Even at age 38, Jeter leads the league in hits (111) and he owns a .389 career average vs. tonight's starter for the Angels, CJ Wilson. Hiroki Kuroda goes for New York and he's been spectacular this season, especially at home where he has given up just 17 earned runs while notching 50 strike outs in 59.7 innings. The Angels are averaging only 4.2 runs per game vs. RHP like Kuroda. Meanwhile, New York averages 5.6 per game vs. LHP like Wilson. When facing an AL pitcher with an ERA under 4.00 the past two seasons, LA is just 11-25. Back the Bombers here.
