Boston has lost eight of its past 11, already trailing the Yankees by eight games in the AL East. Shohei Ohtani has had one bad outing on the mound and that inflated his ERA, but he has allowed just two runs on six hits in 11 innings his last two starts. Ohtani faced the Red Sox in 2021 and gave up a run on five hits in seven innings. Boston will start 42-year-old Rich Hill, who has yet to finish five innings this season and the Red Sox bullpen is #24 in ERA and #22 in WHIP in the majors this year.
